Motivational plan for the staff of a regional high-complexity hospital
Abstract:
Objectives: In this presentation a motivation plan is elaborated for the middle managers of a regional high-complexity hospital. Methods: The factor analysis method of the principal components was applied with Varimax rotation based on a questionnaire that included 57 five-point Likert-type statements for measuring attitudes. The population included in the investigation comprised 62 middle managers responsible for 1 317 employees. Results: The realization of workshops designed to integrate bosses and subordinates was proposed, along with the creation of instances of informative, advisory and decision- making participation. The work load should be studied as well as a communication system that incorporates recognition elements. Discussion: It can be confirmed that hygienic factors do not produce motivation, but nor do they generate demotivation. However, economic variables such as salary can be considered motivational or demotivational in accordance with the level of satisfaction reached.
