Multiple basal cell carcinomas, milia, vermiculate atrophoderma and palmar pits: A familial disorder

Abstract:

We describe three female patients of the same family who showed clinical changes and histologic characteristics of multiple basal cell carcinomas (BCC) accompanied by milia, vermiculate atrophoderma and palmar pits since childhood. BCC are the most common type of malignant epithelial neoplasm, with two distinct epidemiological forms: the sporadic and the hebkp_reditary form. The present article discusses hebkp_reditary BCC. The importance of this entity lies in its development in young people with locally aggressive tumors associated with distinct phenotypic alterations that produce several syndromes. The frequency of this type of BCC has increased in dermatology services.
