Music and technological mediation: new dynamics of production and cultural consumption.

Abstract:

The relationship between music and new media has created other forms of production, distribution and consumption that are developed by the active public participation. The rupture of the dichotomy between transmitter and receiver within the virtual spaces, has led to the creative processes towards networking, in collaboration with users. Because of that, artists can connect with their followers in a direct way and create links, which allows them to become the center of social actions. By this way, they can consolidate a virtual community, which allows them to expand their influence framework to make their proposals visible. The present work offers a perspective on the role of internet in the diffusion of the music trough the use of the collective intelligence and the sense of cooperation that exist in the digital communication flows.
