Music therapy, the song as a psychotherapeutic tool in cerebral palsy. A case report
Abstract:
The present case study has been carried out in a cerebral palsy aid center, with the purpose of evidencing the changes obtained in a positive way through the interventions carried out by applying music therapy. Cerebral palsy, and people who have it, have impaired movement problems associated with abnormal reflexes, strain or stiffness of the limbs and trunk, abnormal posture, involuntary movements, unsteady gait, or some combination of these. Positive results and progressive advances have been obtained from the first sessions to the closure of the music therapy process, reducing the symptoms associated with cerebral palsy. Improvisation techniques and methods have been used, which have allowed the patient's expression, offering the possibility of being heard, allowing him to realize an important value within the context in which he develops.
