NATURAL AND ANTHROPIC RISK ASSESSMENT IN PUBLIC EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS OF MEJÍA, ECUADOR


Abstract:

The education of children and adolescents is a priority issue for every country in the world, since it provides individual freedom and generates social, economic and political stability within a society. The training consists of a process of continuous preparation until reaching full knowledge within a physical environment that guarantees quality and safety education. In this sense, the article assesses risk conditions of the physical space where educational preparation takes place, whether primary or secondary, to contribute to the safety and protection of their students. In this way, key objectives of the Sendai Framework for Action about knowing the environment, its threats and vulnerability to work on disaster reduction is pursued. Finally, the article offers some reflections on the identification of risks in the fiscal educational institutions of the Canton Mejía, Ecuador, considering the location by parish, while it proposes basic guidelines for disaster response and risk management.
