NUMERICAL MODEL FOR THE SIMULATION OF THE TRANSPORT WATER-PETROLEUM IN HORIZONTAL PIPES FOR ONE TIME-STEP
Abstract:
We discretize in space the equations at each time step when discretizing in time a Navier-Stokes system modelling the two-dimensional flow in a horizontal pipe of water and petroleum. At each time step the system reduces to a generalized Stokes problem with non-standard conditions at the boundary and at the interface between the two fluids. We discretize this system with the Taylor-Hood finite element to obtain the numerical model and presented some numerical simulations for a test problem
