Nano-moocs as a training tool for digital competence

Abstract:

The digital competence in professors is unavoidable when taking advantage of the possibilities offered by digital technologies to improve the professional and personal development in the knowledge society. Therefore, this study focused on the design and pilot implementation of a nano-MOOC course as a training tool for digital competence in professors at Universidad Tecnica del Norte located in Ibarra-Ecuador. Through a mixed (qualitative-quantitative) descriptive and field-based approach, three questions were answered throughout this research: a) What is the theoretical framework and characterization of digital competence? b) What is the level of digital competence that professors have? c) What are the needs of training in digital competence? the information obtained became the basis for the proposal of pilot training based on nano-MOOC.
