Nursing according to derrida’s deconstructivist perspective
Abstract:
Introduction: The concept of nursing under the deconstructionist dialectic approach proposed by Derrida consists in showing how an idea has been constructed from historical processes and metaphorical accumulations, showing that what seems to be clear and evident is not. Objective: To promote a reconstruction of the concept of nursing according to Derrida’s deconstructivist perspective. Materials and methods: Qualitative study contextualized in the divisions of the nursing directors of two health centers. The sample consisted of 13 informants. Participant observation was performed for a period of 6 months and life stories were asked to collect the data. Results: The historical evolution of women has had a great impact on the concept of nursing. The current academic, scientific and research development of this discipline has also been studied, propitiating the reconstruction of the concept. Conclusions: Nursing should accept that the legacy of its historical evolution has left important marks on its past, but at the same time it has provided its epistemic object: care.
