On noncentral collisions of reissner-nordström shock waves in AdS <inf>D</inf>


Abstract:

The formation of marginally trapped surfaces in noncentral collisions of Reissner-Nordström-AdS gravitational shock waves is studied numerically for D = 4, 5, 6, and 7. We find that the charge tends to prevent the formation of the trapped surface. This hindering effect dominates at low energies, while at high energies the effect of the charge is negligible and the results for the collision of AdS-Aichelburg-Sexl shock waves are recovered. © 2012 American Institute of Physics.
