Ontological model for representing and publishing academic data with semantic technology

Abstract:

Nowadays, the Web generates a huge amount of data extracted from different sources. In the field of higher education, we find data that are generated from the work on teaching-learning during each academic term, such as the syllabus. This information is stored in each University’s particular repositories which are in different formats, and they are not always available. This work is aimed to create an ontological model of academic data, and to publish them through semantic technology, using the concepts of ontologies and linked data to ensure that the information is properly treated, open and shared to the public.
