Ontossr: A solution for standard design of health information systems

Abstract:

Information Systems offer great benefits in all sectors and health could not be the exception. Having Information Systems that capture, process, store and share people’s information quickly and reliably strengthens access and enjoyment of health services. This article proposes a domain ontology which describes the terminology and functionality necessary for the development of Information Systems in the context of Sexual and Reproductive Health. The evaluation of the ontology on the taxonomic structure and its completeness was performed, to eliminate redundancy between classes and identify inconsistencies between concepts.
