Optimal sizing of photovoltaic systems for smart buildings. Case study "Cañar Gubernation Building"

Abstract:

This document deals with the optimal dimensioning of a system made up of photovoltaic panels and battery storage for the intelligent energy management of a building that provides a public service against the demand for specific loads, maintaining usage profiles according to the parameters programmed by the user. management system. For this, a novel methodology is applied in the optimization framework that aims to reduce the costs of the electricity bill while guaranteeing the reliability of the system. To guarantee the results, the energy demand profiles are applied in the design of the photovoltaic energy and storage system. According to the case of the building under study, the energy consumption preferences are simulated considering the solar resource available in the study area. Once the system is simulated, the economic balance is made in order to establish that the investment would be recovered after around 4 years.
