Optimization model for the planning of supply of beauty products

Abstract:

This study belongs to the logistics area, specifically to the inventory management, which finds its application in the supply chain of a distributor and marketer of beauty products located in the city of Guayaquil. In this company, inventories are considered the largest capital investment, generating costs for their maintenance and control. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to design inventory management policies, in order to properly manage the inventories of the company, seeking to minimize costs and improve the level of customer service. In order to maintain control over the products, the ABC classification method was applied, then with the demand forecasting theory, the inventory review model was proposed to solve supply problems, finally certain action plans were recommended that contemplate the activities and means for the achievement of its objectives set by the company in the short and long term.
