Abstract:
Adolescent pregnancy deserves special medical attention, being a persistent social problem that afflicts many countries in Latin America and the Caribbean, which has evidenced a considerable increase in the births of live children to adolescent mothers between 12 to 17 years of age. The objective of this research is to determine the medical factors that the Basic Hospital San Francisco de Tenguel offers in the quality of care received by pregnant adolescent patients treated in that health home, through the application of a research instrument, with the purpose of making a proposal for improvement. The study has a quantitative approach, with a correlational and field scope, under a non-experimental cross-sectional design; the population is made up of 39 pregnant adolescents, a questionnaire based on the SERVQUAL model was applied, duly adapted and validated through Cronbach's alpha coefficient. The main results demonstrated that the attention of the expected services exceeds that received by the HBSFT; In addition, through the ICS formula the result was -0.90, which indicates that there is a deficit or lack of quality of service in pregnant adolescents, especially in the tangible dimension that refers to the outpatient service and medical emergencies. Four strategies were proposed according to the three dimensions (tangible, security and empathy) according to the SERVQUAL model, such as: managing hospital equipment, training program and talks with medical personnel, and evaluation of the quality of health care and sensitization of personnel. doctor to extend hours of attention to patients; which will serve to improve the quality of health care in pregnant adolescents at the HBSFT.
