Organization of plant diversity in the presence of Anastrepha spp in Vinces, Ecuador


Abstract:

Among the insects that cause the most damage to fruit trees is the fly of the genus Anastrepha. The research was carried out in the Vinces canton of the Los Ríos province, in the variety of Creole mango; with the objective of analyzing the organization of plant and Anastrepha diversity through floristic and fauna parameters, in four localities of the canton (Primavera, Pavana, Santa Martha and La Americana). McPhail traps topped weekly with 5% hydrolyzed protein were used for 12 months. 4,467 flies were caught, 1,820 males and 2,647 females, the highest percentage being captured in La Americana, 35.91%. The fauna richness found was four species, being A. fraterculus the dominant one. The floristic analysis recorded 1,216 specimens, grouped into 39 species, 38.46% are Anastrepha hosts, with Mangifera indicating the highest presence. Spring, records the highest abundance 426 specimens and Santa Martha, the highest richness 24 species. In addition, a diversity of fruits in these areas are attacked by various insects, affecting the economy of the farmers and the social part of the families. It is concluded that the highest capture of Anastrepha is recorded in the sector with the highest plant abundance, producing ecological, economic and social repercussions..
