Organizational development and business survival in times of COVID-19 pandemic: The experience of Avipechichal, Ecuador


Abstract:

The objective of the research is to analyze the incidence of organizational development on business survival in times of a COVID-19 pandemic in the Avipechichal S.A. poultry company. The research was descriptive-correlational, the non-experimental-crosssectional design, the population was 55 workers from the Production Department to whom a Likert scale questionnaire was applied whose reliability was calculated through Cronbach’s alpha coefficient, obtaining a value of 0.917. Validity was determined by expert judgment and the information collected was processed with the SPSS program. The results revealed that the Department has all the characteristics of organizational development examined, which shows a robust company from the organizational point of view. It is concluded that the characteristics of the organizational development of the Production Department can be considered favorable conditions to develop innovative processes that have allowed the company to survive despite the economic adversities due to the current COVID-19 pandemic.
