P1‐288: DEVELOPMENT OF AN INFORMANT‐REPORT SUBJECTIVE COGNITIVE DECLINE QUESTIONNAIRE
Abstract:
Background The emergence of subjective cognitive decline (SCD) as a potential early marker of unhealthy brain aging has resulted in an operationalized definition of SCD and identification of standardized assessment methods. While informants (loved ones) can provide valuable insight into patients’ decline, no standardized methodology exists for measuring informant-based SCD (I-SCD). This study identified a reliable set of questions that measure I-SCD using latent variable modeling. Methods Participants included 537 informants (62±13 years, 69% female) of 458 cognitively unimpaired (CU; 68±8 years, 55% female) and 79 cognitively impaired older adults (CI; 75±9 years, 51% female) from the Vanderbilt Memory and Alzheimer's Center Participant Registry. Informants all completed a 196-item informant-SCD protocol. Latent variable modeling was used for item-reduction. Results Item response theory provided …
