P3‐350: INFLUENCE OF MEDICAL COMORBIDITIES ON BIOMARKER‐INFORMED COGNITIVE RESERVE IN OLDER ADULTS
Abstract:
Background Cognitive reserve (CR) is a theoretical construct that describes a person's capacity to function cognitively relative to the extent of underlying brain pathology. CR can be operationalized as the deviation in a person's capacity to perform a cognitive task relative to their level of pathology. Previous studies have indicated that CR is associated with education, IQ, and other socioeconomic factors. We sought to evaluate the relationship between medical comorbidities and CR in cognitively normal individuals from ADNI. Methods The sample analyzed included 129 cognitively normal older adults without concerns (CN) and 82 participants with significant memory concern (SMC) from ADNI.
