PHYSICAL VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN IN THE SANTO DOMINGO CANTON IN ECUADOR


Abstract:

Violence against women in the same family environment and, more specifically, by same fellow couple, is the more common form of dangerous and hidden gender-based violence. This study determines the incidence of physical violence against women in cases of femicide in Santo Domingo Canton, to be able to educate the population about the femicide. It used a qualitative quantitative design to analyze the phenomenon that is studied, with methods such as the analytic-synthetic, in-ductive-deductive and hypothetical-deductive to achieve the proposed objective. The results leave no doubt that, there is a direct relationship between physical violence and femicide. The main conclusion refers to they are part of a social problem, in a system dominated by the policies of macho-man nature. It is summarized that all victims of violence represent a potential victim of femicide.
