PREVENTION OF DRUG CONSUMPTION. RESULTS OF A PROJECT LINKED TO SOCIETY AT THE TECHNICAL UNIVERSITY OF BABAHOYO

Abstract:

In the last decades, the consumption of drugs in groups of adolescents and young people has begun to be a frequent problem that leaves a harmful impact on the physical, psychic and social development, which can be seen in the indices of school abandonment, begging, violence, depression and low self-esteem, in those who use drugs. This paper presents the preventive experiences developed by a group of nine students of the ninth semester of the Psychology course of the Technical University of Babahoyo, based on a project of relationship with society based on diagnosis, psychotherapeutic intervention and educational guidance With positive results in the way of promoting preparedness in the subject which, regardless of its practical scope, allowed for broad participation and progressive involvement of various institutional and social actors.
