PRIMARY CARE EVALUATION OF A HEPATITIS C VIRUS SCREENING EDUCATION INTERVENTION


Abstract:

Introduction: Increased screening efforts and the development of effective antiviral treatments have led to markedly improved outcomes for patients with hepatitis C (HCV). Objective: To analyze detection rates before and after an educational intervention. Methods: 15 primary care practices located in neighborhoods at risk for higher rates of HCV infections were used. Results: There were a total of 85,697 patients within the cohort seen in the 15 practices. Conclusion: Education showed a modest increase in HCV screening rates. Downloads
