PUBLIC HEALTH AND SWINE HYDATIDOSIS IN THE MUNICIPAL COLD STORAGE PLANT OF AMBATO
Abstract:
Hydatidosis is a parasitic disease of animals, especially swine and zoonotic. The objective of the article is to analyze the number of cases through a retrospective study on the prevalence of livers and lungs seized in the Municipal Cold Storage Plant of Ambato, province of Tun-gurahua belonging to the Sierra region with temperate climate located in Ecuador, from 2016 to 2021. The methodology used was descriptive and through bibliographic review of scientific articles and observation to help in the macroscopic determination of the parasite in livers in pigs that were slaughtered in the aforementioned years of this study. The total swine population was taken, a plan on the management, prevention, control, treatment and eradication of this parasite was recommended and the population was informed about the risk factors when consuming food contaminated with parasitic cysts such as livers, watercress, vegetables and water contaminated with larvae. As Conclusions it can be determined that it was possible to obtain relevant information regarding Hydatidosis on morphology, biological cycle, transmission routes, zoonosis, signs and symptoms in humans, diagnosis and treatment; in addition to including risk factors for public health and food safety when seizing livers and lungs infected with Hydatidosis.
