Participatory process for the evaluation and improvement of student performance
Abstract:
The evaluation of the student training in higher education is a matter of interest and subject of investigation, reaching establish that evaluation should be an assessment comprehensive and participatory, more focused on the usefulness of the learning content, where students learn to evaluate the processes of their training and identify their difficulties and fundamental achievements. However, the analysis of the evaluative practice of training in universities, evidence that has not been systematized a form of action that defines the logical sequence to follow, as well as instruments and fundamental standards, which implies the application of a wide range of criteria, marked by the formal instrument implementation without taking advantage of the information obtained to take advantage for the improvement of the students’ work. From this reality, an investigation was raised by the authors conduct in order to: develop a participatory process for the evaluation of student behavior in function of improving the performance. The process was defined and valued its functionality by using the application in two educational groups in subjects and different majors paths and through the assessment by user critera, identifying a group satisfaction index of students, with respect to the process conceived, equal to 0.8, 1 as possible.
