A Novel System-Level Model for a Fuel Cell in a Strategic Context

Abstract:

This document proposes a novel system-level model that facilitates the comprehension of individual processes intervening in the operation of a full cell, particularly the PEMFC, considering its importance as an efficient and environmentally friendly source of energy. The model classifies each of the processes from a strategic, productive and support perspective, contributing to the organization and analyses of the information and giving guidelines on how to keep them under control, according to their state variables. Finally, the results show -as an added value-, their modeling by numerical methods using free software Octavie, allowing to determine the charge density and, therefore, the voltage that the fuel cell supplies.
