Percepciones del riesgo de contagio y muerte por COVID-19 en maternas atendidas en el área de obstetricia del Hospital Homero Castanier Crespo Julio-Agosto 2021


Abstract:

Background: The Covid-19 pandemic has caused fear and fear in the population due to the risk of contagion and death. Especially the maternal population is vulnerable. Objective: To know the precepts of the risk of contagion and death by COVID-19 in maternal care in the obstetric area of the Homero Castanier Crespo Hospital. Methodology: a qualitative study was carried out, with a phenomenological design. Perceptions were analyzed with the categories. Interviews will be carried out until the information is saturated, the conversations were recorded prior to the signing of the informed consent. The audios will be transcribed and analyzed with the program Atlas.ti v. 7. Through content and hermeneutical analysis. Results: from the interviews carried out with some mothers, it was observed that the hospital environment causes different levels of anxiety, stress, fear, and fear, which in some cases may already have affected the physical and emotional health of the mothers. The fear or fear that mothers have is mainly for the welfare of their children and that of their relatives, they do not want to be responsible for infecting their loved ones. They are not concerned about their state of health. Communication has been profoundly affected between mothers and health personnel, and in some cases with their families. Conclusions: the COVID-19 pandemic has increased the levels of fear and fear of mothers with little support from family members and health personnel. It is necessary that the attention at present is multidisciplinary for a care of the physical and psychological well-being of the mothers.
