Percepción de los cuidadores sobre la salud nutricional infantil
Abstract:
Nutritional health is a topic of worldwide interest due to the high rates of morbidity and mortality rates in the infant population. Caregivers play an important role in the nutritional health of the infant. The objective of this study is to describe the perception of caregivers on children's nutritional health at Centro de Salud 9 de Enero. The qualitative, ethnographic methodology was applied, with the use of interviews, with open questions, whose results indicated that the information of the caregivers about nutritional health is limited, since they did not know the factors that include nutritional health, linked to this, the permissive and inadequate attitude of the caregiver, The caregiver's permissive and inadequate attitude, evidenced by the little control of the type of food consumed by the child, the little supervision of sleeping hours and physical activities, generating risk behaviors in the infant's health and in turn promoting inadequate practices in the child, causing long-term health problems in the child and instilling in them bad habits with respect to their nutritional health. In conclusion, Casey's model and Barnard's theory refer to the appropriate method for the nursing professional to intervene in caregivers, executing actions that contribute to change their erroneous perceptions in healthy nutritional practices and thus guarantee that the infant can enjoy an adequate nutritional health promoted from home.
