Percepción y opinión pública de los ecuatorianos sobre la realidad socio ambiental nacional. Análisis en el cantón Cañar, provincia del Cañar

Abstract:

It is important for different technical works to know general data of a population and its relationship with different topics of interest such as the national socio-environmental reality. The objective of this work was to know the perception and opinion of the inhabitants of the canton Cañar, province of Cañar, about the socio-environmental reality of that locality. To identify the local reality, surveys have been applied to a total of 381 inhabitants, most of them publicize the commitment that the population has for the conservation of the environment. Regarding the issue of equity, even in the canton there are inequalities between men and women, also with older adults. The population is satisfied with the quality of air and the level of noise, however they are somewhat dissatisfied with health services, and the difficulty to get employment in this city. In conclusion, despite the fact that there are both national and local socio-environmental policies, it is important that the community make use of more efficient personal actions in order to contribute to the development and quality of life of the canton.
