Perceptions in the implementation of a physical-therapeutic intervention project for patients with neurological disorders
Abstract:
Introduction: It is of interest that the linking and intervention projects of the university promote attention to the population sectors lacking resources as an indispensable component of the national policies of good living. In this sense, the design and implementation of a community health project must be subject to the study of its scope and limitations, an aspect that allows measuring the effectiveness of the process. Objective: To evaluate the perceptions of social actors, teachers and university students in the implementation of a personalized physical-therapeutic intervention project for subjects with neurological disorders. Methods: The study was of observational, descriptive-qualitative type with correlational elements. Through an intentional sampling, 24 social actors, 11 students and 3 teachers from the Pontifical Catholic University of Ecuador were selected and surveyed, studying some perceptual indicators that allowed to evaluate the scope of a research project on integral health and wellbeing promotion, with intervention in physical therapy for people with disabilities. Results: A high concordance index among respondents was evidenced, given the existence of a percentage frequency superior to 70% in the indicator "Totally Agree" in all the variables studied by means of a survey, evidencing significant differences (p = 0.000) in almost all Percentage comparisons in favor of the aforementioned indicator. Conclusions: Qualitatively, the project was evaluated satisfactorily, with some questions to resume as short-term work actions, allowing the future to improve feedback and the community intervention process in actors with neurological limitations.
