Perfil lipídico en los comerciantes de la Asociación 9 de Enero. Cuenca 2018


Abstract:

BACKGROUND: Primary health care in business does not have the corresponding coverage; the disorders caused come through by daily practices and risk factors that affect their well-being. The different alterations in the lipid profile with risk factors such as obesity, tobacco consumption, alcohol, sedentary lifestyle, and the number of pathologies that are related to the body such as diabetes mellitus, kidney damage, Heart failure as main, Since the increase or decrease of different lipoproteins can cause the formation of intravascular thrombi and produces damage at the level of the heart. GENERAL OBJECTIVE: Determine the Lipid Profile in the merchants of the Association January 9 in the city of Cuenca. METHODOLOGY: A sectional cross-descriptive study was carried out in the merchants of January 9 Association of the city of Cuenca. 109 merchants constituted the universe where the sample is the total of the universe, for the determination of total cholesterol, triglycerides, HDL cholesterol, and VLDL cholesterol. The analysis was performed on venous blood samples with fasting at least 10 hours before collection, using the colorimetric method. The data obtained were tabulated using the SPSS and Excel program considering the following variables: total cholesterol, HDL cholesterol, LDL cholesterol, triglycerides, age, sex, occupation, daily work hours, obesity, smoking, alcoholism, and diet. RESULTS: Of 109 merchants of the Association January 9 was found normal cholesterol level in 51.4%, high values 12.8%; high triglycerides in 57.7%; HDL-cholesterol standard risk in 42.2%; LDL-cholesterol did not determine the considered value of risk in the total population
