Perinatal asphyxia, an influential factor in the alterations of gross motor development


Abstract:

Perinatal asphyxia is a systemic disease whose clinical manifestations are related to functional anatomical areas affected by tissue respiratory disorder, the effects of a perinatal asphyxia depend heavily on early identification and to provide an early therapeutic care to minimize future risks. The objective of this research is to determine the direct relationship of perinatal asphyxia with the gross motor impairment in children during their first 2 years of life, was a compilation retrospective of the Apgar score and gestational age at the birth of the patients attending the outpatient early stimulation in the Provincial Hospital of Latacunga; with the implementation of the abbreviated scale of Nelson Ortiz demonstrate that the delay and gross motor development disorders was related to an episode of choking at the time of the birth. This work emphasizes that changes in gross motor development have a neurological basis and as a system Central nervous which has been insulted precludes the normal evolution and acquisition of skills during the first 2 years of life.
