Pertinence of the redesign of the Communication careers. Study at the Technical University of Babahoyo, Quevedo branch

Abstract:

The debate on curricular design of communication studies is maintained for at least 30 years in Latin America. In Ecuador, thanks to the Organic Law of Higher Education, redesigns of communication careers are carried out. The article presents the application of the Principle of Relevance to the redesign of the communication career of the Technical University of Babahoyo. The methodological instruments used are documentary review, interviews, surveys and focus groups. The redesign is relevant to the needs of the geographic-socio-economic area and is justified by epistemological horizons, structuring nuclei and trends of the profession.
