Philosophical activity in the Venezuelan colonial and emancipatory periods

Abstract:

The purpose of this research is to analyze the intellectual activity developed in the colonial and emancipatory periods in Venezuela from a hermeneutic perspective that tries to interpret the philosophical reflections of both generations circumstantially. Conclusions are that, although it is true that Venezuelan intellectuals were influenced by European thought, many of them managed to understand the reality that characterized our peoples and took on the historical commitment to fight against European colonialism and lay the foundations for creating new autonomous and sovereign republics, which, in order to conquer their independence, had to work for cultural emancipation and the construction of a continental mother land.
