Phlébotomes de Guyane française: Psychodopygus joliveti n. sp.(Diptera, Psychodidae)

Abstract:

The male of a new Phlebotomine sand fly from French Guyana, belonging to the genus Psychodopygus, series panamensis, is described and illustrated. P. joliveti n. sp. is closely allied to P. ayrozai (Barretto & Coutinho); it differs in having pale thoracic pleura and coxae, longer genital filaments (filaments/pump= 4), and fewer proepimeral setae. Those two species are allopatric.
