Abstract:

The main idea of this business is supported by the high level of soccer fans in the city of Cuenca, another major key point is that there are only two other bistro restaurants in the area that hold a similar concept. It is important to mention that the city of Cuenca holds a GDP growth of 4.79% in the bar/restaurants tier, so by having the business in this location the expectancy of success is higher. Porter five forces analysis has identified 3 major threats: buyer power, threat of substitutes and degree of rivalry; two minor threats have been identified as well: barriers to entry and supplier power. The strategy supporting this case study is based on product differentiation. The marketing study found that 7 out 10 people surveyed believe that the town of Cuenca needs a new sports bar sponsored by “Deportivo Cuenca” home team. The business will seek for the “Deportivo Cuenca” sponsorship and will add their key team players as the base of their marketing campaign. The financial metrics are quite unique by offering investor a NPV of $352.071,96 and a IRR of 117.2%.
