Análisis de percepción sobre la realidad socio ambiental y opinión pública en el Ecuador, en el GAD del cantón Otavalo provincia de Imbabura

Abstract:

The objective of this current project was to identify the perception and opinion of the population at the Otavalo Canton, Imbabura’s Province. It is related to a variety of issues like the environment, gender equality, quality of life, and citizen participation. In order to achieve the goal taking the socio-environmental data of the interviewees as a starting point, a structured survey with close-ended questions was applied to a sample composed of 383 people. This survey contained specific topics such as environment, water, markets, quality of life, citizen participation and equality. For this purpose, a simple random sampling type survey was used. Folks were randomly selected from public places such as markets, parks, churches, universities, offices and shopping centers. The results show the socio-environmental reality for both the rural and urban area of Otavalo.
