A Ray-Tracing Simulator for Pbkp_redicting UHF Signals Propagation in Tunnels (Case Study Metro of Quito)


Abstract:

The Ray Tracing Model is studied and applied to estimate the propagation of a radio signal in the UHF band, considering the three-dimensional (3D) representation of the Quito Metro tunnel. In order to estimate the received power, the transmitter is considered as a geodesic ray source, and assuming the tunnel walls are a homogeneous reflective medium. The power delay profile and the heat map of the received signal strength are presented as results of Matlab Simulations.
