Plan de ordenamiento del centro poblado San José Utunkus Sur

Abstract:

Urban planning is generally applied to face the difficulties that currently affect most intermediate cities, whose problems are already very marked; however, it represents an opportunity to create desired futures for settlements that, due to their smaller size, present emerging problems. The measures that are applied in the early stages can solve these problems with greater success, as well as enhancing values and opportunities that will contribute to improving environmental quality, living and working conditions and income levels. The present work centers its study and proposal in generating the planning of an indigenous settlement of Cantón Sucúa, which, like the settlements of the rest of Ecuador and Latin America, are diverse in type. An indigenous settlement is a different reality from a city, not only in size, but in its relations with its environment and primary economic activities, as well as the services it brings together, and the economic base it offers its population. In this context, the Plan is aimed at ordering the territory based on ancestral values and the culture that has allowed it to develop; with a methodology characterized by the participation of the community in order to agree on medium and long-term actions.
