Politicas sociales en el municipio del distrito metropolitano de Quito: ¿Una respuesta a la exclusión?

Abstract:

The main objective of this thesis is realizing a historical description of the situation of exclusion in the 20th century in Quito. It parts from a recuperation of the bibliography of authors that have treated the subject from various aspects, identifying the following reasons of exclusion: race, class, gender and territory. The literature review focuses on two main parts: One the one hand, it recognizes the processes of exclusion on the basis of ethnic and class differences; and on the other hand, it takes a look at the construction process of socially oriented policies that were formulated as municipal actions.
