Potential and limiting factors of development in the rural parishes in the Northwest of the Metropolitan District of Quito. A territorial diagnosis


Abstract:

The rural development involves economic progress and structural transformation of a territory in order to improve the living conditions of the inhabitants. The purpose of this study is to describe the potential and limiting development factors in rural parishes in the northwest of the Metropolitan District of Quito. The methodology used was the descriptive-qualitative approach, using surveys, interviews, direct observation and document analysis. The results highlight the need for increase of production in a context of social equity, condition involving the active association of individuals in each rural community.
