Power system vulnerability metrics

Abstract:

In this paper we examine different scalar vulnerability metrics that account for system topology and power injection profile. We pose calculable metrics related to the ratio of power disrupted along a cutset to the number of lines on a cutset. It is intended that the metrics can be used to assess the system's susceptibility to large disturbances.
