Predestined growth of buzzards (Bubalis bubalus) from the Company Maraguán, Camagüey, Cuba

Abstract:

The work was carried out at Rancho Alegre Farm using the records of 1168 female and male buffaloes born between the years 2006 to 2014 in eight dairies at the Maraguán Company, located in the municipality of Jimaguayú, which is located east of the city of Camagüey, Cuba. With the objective of evaluating the influence of non-genetic factors on these traits in the predestined stage. We used the statistical package SPSS (2015), and basic statistics were calculated according to a model of analysis of multiple variance, whose effects studied were the sex of the herd, herd, number of births, time and the year of birth. Non-genetic factors exerted a significant influence (p <0.01) on all traits studied. Birth weight (PN 32.4 ± 0.21 kg), weaning weight (PD 107.9 ± 1.3 kg) and weight per age (413 ± 0.07 g/day). The nongenetic factors studied should be taken into account when studying the traits of predatory growth.
