Pbkp_rediction of SOC and SOC fractions using Vis-NIR spectroscopy. A comparison of devices for spectra recording

Abstract:

Visible and Near-Infrared Reflectance Spectroscopy (Vis-NIRS) is a fast, economical, and destruction-free alternative method for analyzing soil properties. Our objectives were:(i) to compare the accuracy of two different spectra recording devices used with pbkp_rediction models of soil organic carbon (SOC); and (ii) to explore the suitability of Vis-NIRS technology for rapid measurement of different SOC fractions (unprotected, physically, chemically and biochemically protected). 266 soil samples were taken at different depth from two dehesa farms with different land use. The soil samples were dried at 40 C and passed through a 2-mm sieve. Soil reflectance spectra were measured with LabSpec 5000 spectrophotometer (Analytical Spectral Devices, Inc., Boulder, CO, USA) with a spectral range 350 to 2500 nm. The spectral resolution was 3 nm for the range 350-1000 nm and 10 nm for 1000-2500 nm. Spectra were …
