Pbkp_redisponent factors and tarv adhesion in hiv-infected patients in cotopaxi-Ecuador province

Abstract:

Ecuador was one of the five countries in Latin America with the newest HIV infections in 2005-2015. UNAIDS statistics in 2017 showed an increase, 33,000 people living with HIV/AIDS (PVVS) in the country, of which 32,000 are adults aged between 15 and 49 years: 9,900 women and 22,000 men; however, there is no epidemiological characterization of infection or rigorous assessment of risk factors that condition the incidence of HIV, no studies on therapeutic adherence at the country level, or in each province. Cotopaxi being one of the most populous and extensive provinces in the country, consisting of 7 cantons, from which urban and rural parishes are derived, with an estimated population of 458,581 inhabitants (15% indigenous), an observational explana-tory study will be carried out with the aim of this study will be to evaluate the pbkp_redisponderant factors for HIV infection and adherence to antiretroviral therapy (ART) in a group of HIV-infected patients in cotopaxi-Ecuador Province. During the period from June 2018 to June 2019, it will involve 160 patients and 50 controls, as well as an educational intervention strategy aimed at patients and their families as well as Nursing staff, which strengthens the prevention of such an important pandemic and improves the knowledge and importance of attachment to treatment. It is hoped to establish the association of factors inherent in the population, as a potential risk to the increased presence of this pathology in the geographical area under study.
