Pretibial dystrophic epidermolysis bullosa
Abstract:
The pretibial dystrophic epidermolysis bullosa is a rare variant of epidermolysis bullosa, clinically characterized by vesicular blisters in the anterior tibial region, acconpanied by important pruritus and evolve to scarring lesions that can mimic other patologies such as nodular prurigo or hypertrophic lichen planus. At molecular level the mutation is found in the collagen VII gene (COL7A1). This pathology is chronic and can be difficult to manage. We present the case of a 48 year old male patient who developed vesicles in the dorsum of the legs and later formation of scars with milium cysts in its surface, besides dystrophy of the ten toenailsand pruritus of difficult control.
