Prevalence of sexually transmitted infections in sex workers who go to the n ° 1 tulcÁn health center


Abstract:

The research was carried out on the sex workers who go to the health center Nº1 Tulcán, Carchi province, in order to study the sexually transmitted infections that prevail in women. The objective of this study was to develop prevention strategies for the reduction of sexually transmitted infections in sex workers who attend the health center (CS) No. 1. The different sexually transmitted infections are detailed for a better understanding. The applied research for this study was the quali-quantitative mixed modality carried out on 30 sex workers that after applying a survey it was demonstrated and evidenced that 80% do not know the programs that the Ministry of Public Health manages regarding transmitted infections sexually, 70% do not know the symptoms of sexually transmitted infections, 77% never use prevention methods and 80% of sex workers have acquired a sexually transmitted infection. These data were important when preparing the proposal based on education strategies around prevention and promotion. Through health education, presentations were made for the group of sex workers, making known what sexually transmitted infections are.
