Prevalencia de bulimia nerviosa y factores asociados en adolescentes de los colegios urbanos de la ciudad de Cuenca, 2011
Abstract:
Objective: To determine the prevalence of bulimia and associated factors in adolescents 10 to 19 years from urban high schools of Cuenca. Method and Materials: This study is a quantitative cross-sectional prevalence. Population of N = 38118 the final sample of n = 1215, which met the inclusion criteria. Structured interview was used to apply a questionnaire consisting of socio-demographic variables, as well as bulimia test of Edinburgh (Bulimic Investigatory Test Edinburgh, BITE). The results were statistically analyzed in SPSS 15.00. Evaluation Version Results: 84 cases 7.3% sub-clinical bulimia nervosa and 47 cases equivalent to 4.1% have possible bulimia nervosa. 442 students, 38.3% did not eat breakfast, 228 students, 19.8% have feelings of loneliness, 152 students, 13.2% are deficient affective; 259 students, 22.4% were strongly influenced by the mass media; 386 students, 33.4% had difficulty in resolving conflicts; 359 students 31.1% have difficulty communicating emotions; 378 students, 32.8% have impaired body image; dysfunctional families and severe dysfunctional families 272 cases representing 23.5%. Conclusions: 7.3% have possible sub-clinical bulimia nervosa and 4.1% had bulimia nervosa possible.
