Prevalencia de dermatitis atópica y su relación con la calidad de vida en pacientes atendidos en la Fundación Donum. Cuenca 2021


Abstract:

Background: Atopic dermatitis is a chronic, inflammatory, multifactorial diasease of genetic cause. Characterized by the presence of recurrent eczema protrusions combined with itching. It is more common in children. It affects their mental, physical and personal stability, and their family, social, stud, work and academic relationships. Objective: The aim of this study is to determine the prevalence of atopic dermatitis and its relationship with the quality of life in patients treated at Donum Foundation in the city of Cuenca during 2021 Methods: It is a cross- sectional analytical investigation, we use a sample of 245 patients diagnosis with atopic dermatitis aged between 3 months and 65 years old, who attended the atopic dermatological consultation of the Donum Foundation, the information was collected through a form. The data were tabulated and analyzed through Excel and EpiInfo 7 programs. Results: The prevalence of DA was 5,7%: it is more on men with 64,2% than teenagers with 50,01%, students 78,6% and singles 92,8%. Their self-perception about their current state was mild with 57,1%, resides that 64% of the participants had family background,. The 50% had at least 3 years with DA. The 74,1% perceives that his quality of life is good despite his illness and recognizes that the physical sphere. Conclusions: The prevalence of atopic dermatitis on the Donum Foundation was 5,7%. It was determined that this eczema has most impact in the physical appearance of patients considering that in general their quality of their life is good.
