Prevalencia de extracción dentaria en pacientes de la Clínica de Odontopediatría de la Facultad Piloto de Odontología


Abstract:

The stomatognathic system is considered a very important structure, from it dependes physiological funtions such as talking, chewing, swallowing, smiling and differents facial expressions. The consequences for a premature loss of a vital dental organ fluctuates between the causes as: dental cavities, dental trauma, endodontics failure, iatrogenesis. This can trigger major problems in the stomatognathic system. The objective from the study is to determinate the prevalences which why exodontics are done in the pediatric dentistry of the “Universidad De Guayaquil”.The study was transversal, retrosprective, a bibliographic review was done from the 261 medical records, 033 that rest in the “Facultad Piloto De Odontologia De La Universidad De Guayaquil” in the pediatric dentistry area in 2018 – 2019 CII period. The pacients that had a tooth extraction, findings showed according to analized variables, the causes, the gender, the age, temporary dentition, most affect maxillary. According with the results there is a predominance in male patients, with an age that fluctuates from 7 to 9 years old with more affectation in the 7 years old toddlers. Regarding the maxillary temporary dentition, the most affected is the left superior temporal first molar and the right upper temporal central incisor. Regarding the jaw temporary dentition, the most affected is the left inferior temporal first molar and the right inferior temporal canine. The jaw is the most affected. In conclusión, the temporal dentition can cause affection of the stomatognathic system, affecting in various scenarios such as loss of dental arch, psychology, stetic. It’s adviced to always give the correct care to avoid the loss of the rest of dental pieces through preventive programs and the consistent visits to the odonthology.
