Prevalencia de ácaros en abejas Apis mellifera en producción, vivero GO Puerto Hondo Parroquia Chongón-Guayas
Abstract:
The present research work realized in the Laboratory of the faculty of Veterinary medicine and Animal husbandry of the University of Guayaquil, during December, 2015 until February, 2016, there analyzed samples of bees proceeding from beehives of the species examined Apismellifera of the vivarium GO located in Port Hondo Parish Chongón-Guayas, with the target to determine the predominance of ascariosis caused by the species Acarapiswoodi, Varroa, Tropilaelaps (T. clareae and T. koenigerum). Of 60 bees samples were realized all in adults. The sampling was realized selecting the beehives at random, then there are placed meshes of materials of wire and cloth, which were withdrawn when the quantity was obtained adapted of working bees, making sure that the queen should not be in this frame because the beehive might emigrate; then with a 10 ml syringe, the needle is extracted, and there is cut the top of the syringe, of every cell we suck with the syringe a bee, and he wraps up with cotton, later it is located in a receptacle of glass covered with mesh and with cloth of awning. In the laboratory every sample took proceeding to remove the head and the forelegs using a few small tweezers and this way to eliminate the necklace that surrounds the gap of the neck to exhibit the trachea and finally the bees analyze individually in a microscope stereoscope. In the identification with the help of an optical microscope with glasses of 10 x and 40 x, of 60 samples, 100 % of the cases was negative, and a 0 % positive cases to the ascariosis predominance, that is to say of the following mites: Acarapiswoodi 0 %, Varroa 0 %, Tropilaelaps (T. clareae and T. koenigerum) 0 %.
