Prevalencia y factores asociados a la conducta agresiva en escolares de Cuenca, 2011


Abstract:

Generalaim:To determine the existence and associated factors of aggressive behavior in the students’ population in Cuenca City. Methodology:Transversal study that included 1000 students in school life in Cuenca City, in the Province of Azuay, in which an inclusion was made by our simple aleatory show. In the process of diagnosis of aggressive behavior was necessary to apply the test of COPRAG, for detecting functionality/functionless less of the family using the family tool APGAR, also tests that helped to identify alcoholism and strike against under age children in home, were used. It was used the reason of prevalence with IC 95% and the value of p for demonstrating risk and statistical significance respectively between the aggressive behavior and associated factors. Results:The prevalence of aggressive behavior reached 11%, it was found more frequent in school age children of 5 to 9 years, belonging to male gender, and being residents of urban area, living functionless family, multi-members home,having alcoholic parents, being watchers of television during a period of four hours as average a day. Conclusions:The male school age children(RP 2.88) being part of functionless families(RP 1.96) are in risk to develop aggressive behavior, with multi-members home (RP 1.68) that come from violent parents (1.43), and with exposition to television for more than four hours (RP 2.15).
